First Vegetable Beds Finally In

The first small vegetable beds are in and filled with soil, and the first vegetables are planted. We’re still trying to work out an convenient way to get water to the beds—right now the Abbot is carrying various water containers to the beds multiple times a day, and is also praying regularly for rain. The first beds are made of galvanized steel, but we also plan to make more of untreated pine. We’re a small community, and this kind of work requires time and energy, so it’s slow going at first, but people at Trinity Church are beginning to share the work, and we hope that as we expand, we’ll be able to draw more help from the surrounding community.
